Pool is open
Our first visitors went for an early morning swim. No towels needed, just dried of in the sun. Pool temperature 70 F (21 C) and it will only get warmer.

Ladder-backed woodpecker
Our newest nice bird picture. A female ladder-back who doesn’t mind us or the dogs. Right over our head in the mesquite trees. The leaves are gone, a good time to watch the birds.
Screech Owls at the Front Door
Western Screech Owls have taken over the courtyard. We have one year round resident but he/she appears to have found a mate and now there are three offspring. Purple Martins are nesting in the big saguaro next to the driveway.
Red-Winged Blackbirds
These birds showed up today. Rare in the winter and the first time for us to see them. Quite noisy, there were about 25 of them.

Elf Owl
The elf owl is back, after a 10 year (more or less) absence and residing in the same hole where it was before. He/she likes the early morning sun.
